Banish Misfortune

Concert, session or ceilidh band featuring brilliant musicians & singers, performing Celtic songs & tunes &/or providing lively music & caller for Scottish, Irish, English ceilidh

A performance and ceilidh band featuring brilliant musicians and singers, banish Misfortune are able to perform Celtic songs and tunes and/or provide a rousing foundation to any ceilidh.

Banish Misfortune was started in 2006 by friends who had played together for several years in various musical combinations. Featuring a mixture of guitar, fiddle, bass, whistle, mandolin, piano and sometimes drums, the band has a core membership and some very talented side musicians.

Ensuring a very enjoyable ceilidh, they are a lively dance band with a knowledgeable and inspiring caller, the key to a good evening's dancing.

Banish Misfortune also perform Irish songs and tunes, (their material includes some Scottish and Country music too), in styles ranging from a delicate melody to a storming sound, with excellent singers and trained top line players.

Punctual and professional, and bringing a marvellous atmosphere to any party or gathering, Banish Misfortune are the ideal band to play in a variety of settings: dance hall, garden, living room and ball room.
