British Comedy Blog Awards - Nominations Open

Did you know the earliest known joke is officially "Why did the chicken cross the road?" - first seen in the March 1847 issue of New York Monthly!

Comedy has come a long way since then, although you wouldn't know it judging by the terrible efforts found in our Christmas crackers. We all know someone who manages to raise genuine a smile with their Facebook updates, Tweets or blog posts- put them forward for the British Comedy Blog Awards.

The awards, hosted by TheDogsDoodahs.com, recognise any personal blog, website, Fan Page or Twitter account and anyone in the UK can enter. The finalists will be announced on Christmas Day and will compete via public vote to win prizes including an iPad 2.
