


Dialogue festival unites art, music and literature for a one-off festival experience
Word is out: A brand new festival will unite an exciting and diverse selection of artists to fuse music, comedy, debate and rhyme, in a four day celebration of the spoken word.Brought to you by the bank built on conversation with its customers, the first direct Dialogue Festival will debut in West London over four consecutive evenings from 2nd - 5th November 2011. Tickets are available from in September for this one of a kind event.
Themed and curated by key figures from the comedy and literary worlds, first direct Dialogue Festival invites you to experience the art of conversation in a series of thought-provoking, creative and inspiring displays of discussion and exchange.
In select locations in London's Notting Hill, each night will focus on different themes including debate, banter, technobabble and lyrical. Expect to be stimulated by poetry, storytelling, comedy, lyricism, hip-hop and theatre. Sing a sentence together, enjoy a play on words or read between the lines at this unique festival inspired by.... dialogue!
Debate night - Wednesday November 2nd
Words of Wisdom: Harnessing the power of words, the night will showcase some of the most notorious, outspoken characters of our time in a series of debates andtopical discussions. Expect some heated conversations, sensational points ofview and healthy debate. Curated by the talented stand up comedian and writer, Robin Ince and showcasing the work of Adam Buxton and the hilarious Literary Death Match amongst other big name performers.
Technobabble night - Thursday November 3rd
The continued advancements in technology have seen an explosion in social networking and the way we converse. This night will challenge a selection of comedies finest to rant and muse on technical jargon, take part in a live tweet off and tell us what they really think of technology past and present. Hosted by Richard Herring and showcasing the talents of Aisle 16 and Josie Long.
Lyrical night - Friday November 4th
Words with attitude: A night of intense vocal word throw down courtesy of punk poetry and the Hip Hop Shakespeare company. Expect clever rhyme, and infectious beats led by legendary punk poet and performer John Cooper Clarke and a recital from high profile poets Sabrina Mahfouz and Murray Lachlan Young.
Banter night - Saturday November 5th
Expect a night of playful, intelligent and original conversation. A selection of sharp comedians will be throwing down the gauntlet and amusing us with their witty one liners. The brilliant Francesca Martinez and Dan Antopolski will take to the stage amongst other special guest performers.
