Ronni Ancona to make ‘Big Impression’ for children with cancer

Comedienne Ronni Ancona is to host the Fantasy Ball in support of CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people on Wednesday 16 November 2011.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Pete Tong, to perform at CLIC Sargent Fantasy Ball

Renowned as one of autumn's must attend events, CLIC Sargent's Fantasy Ball is a stylish evening combining sparkling glamour and dazzling entertainment - with a target of raising £200,000 to support children and young people with cancer.

"I'm looking forward to getting on stage at The Fantasy Ball and encouraging everybody to empty their pockets for CLIC Sargent," said Ronni Anacona. "It's sure to be a wonderful evening for a wonderful cause," she added.

Held on the opening night of ‘SuperNova', the amazing pop up venue at Embankment Gardens, CLIC Sargent's flagship ball promises to be a night to remember.

Joining Ronni at the masquerade-themed charity evening are a number of specially invited guests including singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and DJ Pete Tong who will join around 400 partygoers for a cocktail reception, three course meal, and fabulous live entertainment, including magicians.

Sophie, who will be performing on stage after dinner says: "CLIC Sargent's work with children and young people with cancer is inspirational so I'm incredibly excited to be getting involved with the Fantasy Ball. I'm hoping for the very best, for the night and for the charity's other, wonderful, work."

The masquerade theme at the Fantasy Ball relates to the role of CLIC Sargent's Play Specialists, who work with young cancer patients to make the prospect of wearing radiotherapy masks less daunting. CLIC Sargent will also be making a special appeal for donations on the night through a mask auction.

Renowned artists including Tracy Emin, Sam Taylor Wood and Phillip Tracey have kindly created bespoke pieces of art by customising life-size fibreglass face masks, which will be auctioned at CLIC Sargent's Fantasy Ball. Money raised through the mask auction will fund CLIC Sargent's work improving the lives of children and young people with cancer.

"Some highly celebrated artists have given their time, energy and creativity for the mask auction and, through their sale at The Fantasy Ball, they will support children and young people with cancer, and their families across the UK," comments Lorraine Clifton, CLIC Sargent Chief Executive.

Tickets for the 2011 Fantasy Ball in aid of CLIC Sargent cost £250 and can be purchased by visiting www.fantasyball.org.uk or calling 020 8752 2834.
