Spotlight on Scotland Travels South

Towersey Village Festival is proud to announce the securing of funding from Creative Scotland for a major input into the 2011 Festival.

Spotlight on Scotland will feature The Burns Unit, an 8 piece Scottish Canadian ‘super group' sometimes described as ‘indie pop meets carnival rock'; Saltfishforty, Douglas Montgomery and Brian Cromarty combine to bring us the music of the Orkney's; Karin Polwart and Lau will join together in a live performance of collaborative material from their Evergreen EP. New material will be presented by Alasdair Roberts, Karine Polwart and David Ferrard and the spotlight is completed with a major new dance music development from Martin Green with his Broken Click-Track. He is joined by Inge Thomson and Fraser Fifield. Broken Click-Track will be featured as a late night dance show and take Martin Green's 10 minute piece, created for Celtronica in the 2011 Celtic Connections to an even greater field.

Towersey Village Festival are delighted of course to be welcoming these exceptional tradition and contemporary musicians from Scotland, coming together under the Scottish banner from the new lead arts organisation for Scotland. The spotlight falls on Towersey, Oxfordshire from 25-29 August 2011.
