Streep Streets Ahead for Oscar & Globe Double

Bookies William Hill are expecting a great 2012 for Meryl Streep, who they predict will clean up at both the Oscars and the Golden Globes following her extraordinary portrayal of Lady Thatcher.

Meryl Streep is 4/7 to win the Best Actress Golden Globe, 1/1 to win the Best Actress Oscar and 11/8 to do the double. George Clooney is favourite for both the Globe (1/2) and the Oscar (10/11) for his performance in ‘The Descendents', which is 5/6 to win the Best Drama Golden Globe!

"Meryl Streep is a fantastic actress and by all accounts her performance as Lady Thatcher is extraordinary," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
