Calling all petrolheads…! TeamSport is launching not one, but two mega-battles to find the UK’s fastest and most talented kart drivers.
This is the chance for all aspiring Jenson Buttons and Lewis Hamiltons to show just what they can do on the track (they both started their careers karting). Anyone can take part, regardless of previous experience.
TeamSport at London Tower Bridge, Tower Bridge Business Park, 100 Clements Road, London, SE16 4DG, will play host to Red Bull's first nationwide Kart Fight, whose winners will go on to take part in Red Bull's death-defying Speed Jam extravaganza, through the closed-off streets of Cardiff in September. And TeamSport's own championship returns, by huge popular demand, for a second year. Both championships are running in tandem, meaning Britain's fastest can qualify for both scorching competitions at the same time.
Each driver simply books a race session and records their three fastest lap times to be in with a chance of going through to the next round. Entry is now open.
The Red Bull championships are open to drivers aged 16 years and over, while for TeamSport, the adult league is for 17 years and over. It also has a junior championship, for 12-16 year olds.
Qualifying race sessions can be booked by calling 0844 998 0844 or by visiting: http://www.team-sport.co.uk/book-now/. And as witnessed last year, competitors are sure to turn up the pressure on opponents by posting their fastest lap times on Twitter. #kartchamps*will be trending with a vengeance!
TeamSport director Dominic Gaynor, commented: "If last year is anything to go by, it'll be a thrilling adventure from now right through to the autumn and we're looking forward to seeing plenty of track talent. But don't forget it's the taking part that counts - and you've got to be in it to win it!"

How to qualify - who will be fast enough?
Qualifying for TeamSport's Kart Champs closes on Wednesday 31st August, giving competitors a whole three months to test their karting speed (NB: Qualifying ends on 25 July for Red Bull's Kart Fight). Both championships offer further chances to race and win in the lead-up to the silverware!
The grand finals
In September, Red Bull's top 40 semi final winners will have the money-can't-buy experience of careering round closed-down-Cardiff in its manic Speed Jam event - a pantheon to all things, fast, furious and quite, quite mad.
In October, the top 40 TeamSport finalists from each age category will tear off the grid in TeamSport's final at its incredible Crawley International circuit. This jaw-dropping track covers 800 metres and is split over three adrenaline-pumping, interlocking levels of track, featuring banked corners, steep ramps and plenty of opportunities for overtaking. The fastest driver will scoop the coveted TeamSport Kart Champ 2011 title and trophy.
*#kartchamps is the Twitter tag for those Tweeting about Red Bull's championship; ‘trending' means it will be flagged up as one of the most talked about topics on Twitter
